How this PDF compressor reduces PDF size
In most big PDFs, the images are what take up the space. Scanned documents are basically a stack of photos, and reports full of pictures are much the same. This tool recompresses those images and scales down the oversized ones. Text and drawings are left as they are, so they stay crisp and you can still select and search the text. Some compressors turn every page into a picture, and that's why their results look blurry.
Pick a target KB when a portal has a strict upload limit. The compressor will try progressively stronger settings until the PDF fits, or show the closest size it can make. You can also switch to Low, Recommended or Strong when you care more about a fixed quality level than a specific file size.
Some PDFs won't shrink much. A file that's mostly typed text is already small, and the tool will tell you so plainly. If the compressed version somehow comes out bigger, you'll be offered your original instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I compress PDF files to send by email?
Open the PDF, choose a target like 500 KB or 1 MB and tap compress. Check the new size, then download and attach it.
Can I compress a PDF to 1 MB?
Yes. Choose 1 MB from the target size options, or type your own custom KB target. Scanned PDFs usually shrink the most. If a PDF cannot reach the target, the tool shows the closest size it managed instead.
Why didn't my PDF get much smaller?
It's probably mostly text. Text takes very little space already, so there isn't much to squeeze. Scans and photo-heavy PDFs shrink the most.
Will compressing make the text blurry?
No. Text and drawings aren't touched. Only the images inside are compressed.
Is my PDF uploaded when I reduce the PDF size?
No. Everything happens in your browser, on your own device.
Can I compress a password-protected PDF?
No, password-protected files aren't supported. Remove the password first, then try again.
