Crop a photo to exactly the part you need
Most of the time you only need part of a photo. Your face from a group picture for a profile, the error message from a full-screen screenshot for a bug report, a square version of a product shot. Drag the box over what you want to keep and the size in pixels updates as you go, so you know exactly what you'll get.
The presets lock the shape for you. 1:1 gives a square, 16:9 suits video thumbnails and wide banners, 9:16 fits stories and status updates, and Passport uses the 35 × 45 mm ratio. A quick note on that last one: it sets the shape only. It doesn't check lighting, background colour or anything else, so look up the rules for whatever you're applying to.
Your download stays in the format you started with. A JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG, and WebP stays WebP. And if your form wants something tiny like 20 KB, tap Compress this image and the cropped picture goes straight into the compressor on this same page.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I crop an image to a square?
Choose the 1:1 preset, then drag the box over the part you want. It stays square while you move and resize it.
Can I crop a passport size photo here?
You can crop to the passport shape (a 35 × 45 mm ratio). The tool only handles the shape, though. It won't check lighting, background or where your face sits in the frame, so read the rules for the form you're filling in.
Will cropping change my image format?
No. JPG comes out as JPG, PNG as PNG and WebP as WebP.
Is my photo uploaded when I crop it?
No. The cropping is done entirely in your browser, and the image stays on your device.
Can I crop an image and then compress it to 20 KB?
Yes. After cropping, tap Compress this image. The cropped picture moves to the compressor on the same page, where you can choose 20 KB or any other size. Cropping first usually gives a sharper result at small sizes, too.
